I have always drawn and painted. Encouraged by my
parents, and inspired by Saturday morning art classes
from the age of 9, the urban landscape of 1950s
Manchester made a deep impression on me, and remains a
strong underlying influence in my work.
From 1974 I studied in Manchester and then went on to
Bath Academy.
In 1985 I established Dave Parkinson Murals, and have
produced numerous large-scale art works over the last
20 years.
In 2001 we moved to South Wales. Since then, as well as
my commercial commissions, I have returned to easel
painting and my long-time themes of fairground imagery
and urban decline.
A selection of these, and other types of work, are
displayed on the
Galleries pages.
